What are Frame Drums? Frame drums, including tambourines, are early instruments with a membrane diameter larger than the frame depth. Our workshop focuses on Bendir, Tar, and Mizhar.

• Modern Lap-Style (sitting) position

• Rhythmic vocalizations (Konnakol & Solkattu)

• Traditional and contemporary rhythms

• Basic ornamentation and variations

• Advanced Lap-Style techniques

• Breathing & Rhythm

• Group playing and rhythmic compositions

• Historical background
